We're Hiring!

Dear Friends,

The WSM Board and I are excited to announce that we've created a new staff position! We will hire a Community Engagement Coordinator to join our staff in the Fall of 2021 as we enter our 6th year of community storytelling. We've included the full job announcement below.

When I reflect on that past five years of creative and collaborative programming, I keep coming back to an early phrase we used early to describe our work:

An ever-evolving experiment trying its best to listen and affect change.

We continue to be a nimble organization that thrives on synergy, abundance thinking, experimentation, and deep listening. We love finding points of intersection with others to increase our collective impact through community oral history and storytelling projects in the South Puget Sound. We are so grateful for the many relationships we have developed over the past five years with other multimedia storytellers, artists, academics, community organizers, and community organizations. Together, we've convened conversations, created opportunities to glean wisdom from the lived experience of our neighbors, colleagues, family members, and friends, and shared skills and tools through community workshops and multimedia storytelling services.

Check out our five years community storytelling  and storytelling workshops and services on our website!

As we reach this five year benchmark, we’re eager to infuse our work with new energy, ideas, and experience. We hope the Community Engagement Coordinator will help us grow and evolve in responsive and meaningful ways across our beautiful and diverse community. We're open to and excited by the possibilities!

Storytelling is a vital part of human life, and there are many ways that community storytelling projects can nourish, heal, and strengthen our communal life. We are excited to welcome a staff person who can take a leadership role in helping to frame and design our community storytelling projects in partnership with our community(ies), and then seek the resources needed to support those ends.

Maybe you would like to apply! Or maybe you know someone who you feel would be great in this role and can share this job announcement with them. You can read more about the position below.

We are excited to see what the next phase of our work ushers in and thank you for continuing to engage in and support our work.
Until soon,

Elaine Vradenburgh
