December 2025 e-news

Dear Friends,
I hope you are finding light and warmth as we approach the shortest day of the year. December nights are long and cold. This season can also be a time of hope and possibility as we wait for the light to return.
Six months ago our staff shrank by 50% and the staff hours for my position shrank by 50%. Funding from Inspire Olympia, ArtsFund, and community support from people like you has allowed our work to continue. With so much funding being cut to essential services across sectors right now, we are grateful each day that we're able to continue documenting and sharing community stories. Thank you for believing in our work!
As we look ahead to the New Year we are eager to imagine what Window Seat could look like as it enters its second decade of service to the community. How might we be of use to the community in this particular moment? What vision will move us into the future with more intention, creativitiy, and impact? What financial model best supports our work in this new funding landscape?
Our board will be engaging with these and other questions in the coming months, and we'll be reaching out to you for your thoughts and ideas. We hope you will consider making an end-of-year gift to Window Seat to support our next chapter. We look forward to imagining our future together.
Until soon,

Elaine Vradenburgh, Memory Activist
