November 2025 e-news

Dear Friends,
Give Local officially kicks off on Monday and runs through November 21. Thank you to those who gave last week during early giving. Our goal is to raise $5,000 and we’re about 10% there!
When you give to our Give Local campaign, you are directly investing in our work to:
- Build community capacity to share and document our own stories by training community members in oral history methods and best practices and multimedia storytelling tools.
- Add underrepresented oral histories to local archives and libraries.
- Amplify local histories through diverse and engaging public programming, such as artist talks, exhibits, workshops, performances, podcasts, communal listening sessions, and other activities that center the needs and strengths of the South Sound.
Community archives impact what and how we remember. Our local archives currently lack many stories of youth, elders, LGBTQ+ folks, BIPOC, immigrants, disabled people, low income people, and others who have made significant contributions to our region. Inaccurate or incomplete narratives reinforce biases, deepen inequality, and create cultural divides that leave people isolated. By contrast, when communities develop the skills and have access to the tools to document and amplify our own stories, we grow in our power to connect across differences, strengthen bonds, and imagine new possibilities for a future we build together.
You can support our work by giving to our Give Local campaign through November 21. Another way you can support Window Seat is by sharing our campaign with your friends and family!
We know that these are hard times and that there are so many urgent needs in our communities. Thank you for all you are doing and for including us in the many ways you give. I hope to see you in person soon!
Until soon,

Elaine Vradenburgh, Memory Activist
