Dear Friends,

We've been feeling your love this summer! From backyard fundraisers to a haircut-a-thon to unexpected donations arriving in our inbox and P.O. Box, we are buoyed by your unwavering support amidst so much need in our community. Thank you, thank you!! There's a lot more rebuilding to do to regain financial stability, and there's a lot to look forward to at Window Seat that your donations directly support that we're excited to share.

Our Pride Storytelling Project cohort has been busy crafting their project proposals that they'll finalize later this month. Stay tuned as we announce their projects in October! The Lacey Museum and Cultural Center, which will re-open in a new space this fall, has chosen Window Seat as its community partner to feature in their space through 2026. This will be an exciting opportunity to revisit the materials in our archive and bring stories into the community in new ways through rotating exhibits. More on our opening soon! We're looking forward to partnering again with The Evergreen State College's Civic Engagement Institute by hosting a workshop for incoming students later this month, and we're eager for the release of a series of animated "civic stories" we produced in partnership with the Civic Engagement Program at the Office of the Secretary of State and local artist, Aïcha El Beloui.

If you're able, please consider making a donation to continue to help us rebuild. Thank you for helping this work continue in our community! We hope you'll come down to the Farmers Market on September 13th to check out our Pride Storytelling Project exhibit and learn about what the cohort will be up to this coming year. We'd love to chat with you in person.

Until soon,

Elaine Vradenburgh, Memory Activist
