Join us for Give Local 2023 - Nov 6-17

Give Local begins today! We are participating in Give Local 2023, our community's annual celebration of local generosity. We're excited to take part because it's a time when everyone can unite around a shared sense of generosity and togetherness. We appreciate the Community Foundation of South Puget Sound for organizing this campaign.

From November 6 through November 17, you can find Window Seat and other notable local nonprofits working to uplift our communities' well-being on spsgives.org.

Our work creates opportunities for people to learn community-based oral history practices to

• document and share their family or community history
• connect with others, be curious, and build community by practicing deep listening and sharing stories
• activate public histories through interactive and creative community engagement projects
• gain knowledge, skills, and media literacy with accessible recording technologies
• and honor the wisdom of people all around us who are all knowledge-holders and educators.

Members of Brave Practice Playback Theatre Collective facilitate a pair and share with our all-ages Stories of Bravery season kickoff workshop participants, our largest intergenerational improv gathering yet, in ASHHO Cultural Community Center's Soul Cafe.

We believe we write our future with the stories we narrate, and we are committed to co-creating a more inclusive, connected, and just world.

We have secured a matching gift for the first $1,250 from two anonymous donors, so NOW is a great time to give! Our goal is to reach $5,000 or engage 100 donors. Additionally, when you visit our profile page and donate, your gift will be amplified by the Give Local Bonus Fund. The Community Foundation and sponsors cover credit card and other fees, so everything goes toward our mission to spark conversation, connection, and social change through community oral history and storytelling.
